Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Turning network data into a decision-making asset

FROM FIELD DATA
TO OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
A high-performing GIS is far more than an interactive map.
At its core is a structured, reliable and shared database that provides an accurate representation of your networks, assets, customers and infrastructure.

That database does not appear overnight. It must be built from field surveys, historical records, technical archives and operational data. It must then be structured, validated, maintained and adopted by the people who use it every day.
That is exactly what Geoliance delivers across France and Africa for operators and authorities managing:
- Drinking water networks
- Wastewater systems
- Electricity distribution
- Fibre-optic networks
- Gas infrastructure
- Telecommunications
- Territory and asset management
BUILT BY WORKING ALONGSIDE
NETWORK OPERATORS
Our GIS expertise has been shaped by real-world projects and operational challenges.
We have helped clients:
- Georeference, validate and integrate more than 7,600 km of medium-voltage networks and nearly 23,000 km of low-voltage infrastructure for SBEE in Benin.
- Locate and connect every customer to its point of supply, district by district, across Cotonou, Abomey-Calavi and Porto-Novo for SONEB.
- Rebuild the asset knowledge base of a medium-voltage distribution network in Bangui for ENERCA.
- Locate drinking-water customers and improve customer databases for LCDE in Congo.
- Equip cadastral teams within Morocco’s national land and mapping agency, ANCFCC.
These projects have reinforced a simple conviction: a useful GIS starts with reliable, real-world data. Everything else, maps, dashboards and business applications, depends on it.
Three complementary areas of expertise
1. Building data where it is missing
- Network asset inventories (High-, medium- and low-voltage electricity networks, Drinking-water networks, Wastewater infrastructure, Gas networks, Fibre-optic and telecommunications infrastructure). This includes detailed surveys of every asset, facility, substation, feeder and connection point, supported by geocoded photography and field diagnostics.
- Customer location surveys : Digital surveys performed using GNSS-enabled field devices and connected/offline mobile applications. Working directly alongside operator teams, we establish and validate the relationship between: Meter → Supply Point → Customer
- Large-scale georeferencing: We integrate Historical plans, Archive documents, As-built records, Aerial imagery into a single, official geospatial reference system.
- Field verification: When underground infrastructure is poorly documented or entirely unknown, our teams complement existing information through Electromagnetic utility detection, Ground-penetrating radar, RTK and PPK GNSS surveying
2. Structuring network databases
- Network data modelling: Lines and conductors, Nodes, Substations, Network equipment, Service points, Consumption points, Delivery points
- Quality control & topology management: Geometric consistency rules, Attribute validation rules, Multi-level QA/QC procedures before integration
- Database migration & governance, Recovery of legacy datasets, Migration projects, Data governance strategies, Update workflows
- Open and interoperable architectures : PostgreSQL / PostGIS, GeoPackage, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Esri environments
3. Embedding GIS within the organisation
- Assessment of existing GIS maturity,
- Strategic roadmaps covering short-, medium- and long-term objectives
- Deployment and user adoption programmes
- Training and operational support
- Integration with business systems
- Knowledge transfer : Your teams gain autonomy throughout the project, not after it.
The Geoliance approach : A proven framework from data collection to long-term adoption
Understand
Assessment of:
- Business requirements
- Operational workflows
- Existing datasets
- Internal capabilities
Quality by design
Every dataset undergoes a double-validation process:
- Internal validation of geometry and attributes
- Client-side verification and approval
This is what separates a true asset database from a collection of drawings.

Make your GIS a true management tool
Are your plans scattered across multiple systems? Are your databases incomplete? Can you trust your customer records? These are exactly the challenges we solve.
Geoliance builds GIS platforms that people use, data models that remain current, and asset databases that support real operational decisions.
